Age the Hooper captures the embarrassing Cindy.
Did Cindy win last Tuesday?A big winner in this election was clearly the Old Media. The
MSM must be thrilled. Those at the NY Times, must have a new spring in
their step. You can see the glee in the faces and voices of CBS, ABC,
NBC...
The New Media, the blogs and radio, were defeated.
The
liberal partisans did their job. After 6 long years of dramatic slant,
deceit, and vitriol, they were able to manipulate the conventional
wisdom just enough, to isolate and hinder President Bush.
They
had help with Katrina, a difficult Battle in Iraq, with dishonest liars
like the Wilsons, and the rest of the unethical dedicated to the
Democrat Party.
The MSM had a great deal of help from
Conservatives as well. Many pundits after the Reelection of GW Bush
grew filled with overt cynicism, and offered nothing but negativity,
losing context of the essential GWOT.
Many of these elites, high
profile contributers, popular bloggers, began the Second Term having
little patience, and overt skepticism. Encouraging potential voters to
become jaded and doubtful, often ignoring the positive.
They
called Ms. Meirs, who is a trusted associate of the President, with an
impressive legal background, a 'bellhop'. Some Conservative bloggers
became so overwhelmed with emotion to declare we were 'selling our
ports', when the facts suggested they were only peddling hyperbole and
fear.
The misplaced hostility only grew.Suddenly,
immigration grew to cult like status. It quickly became an obsession,
with months of endless Bush bashing, demanding instant results for a
problem that had been ignored for decades. Everyone was racing to
become more anti-illegal immigration than everyone else on this issue.
Even when it was not a focus of the Campaigns in 2000, 2002, and 2004.
Former
elected officials who never did anything on immigration in the past,
now experts on the issue, were enlisted to demean the Administration
over the problem. Wasn't it amusing to see Mr. Meese offering advice on
amnesty? So why didn't Mr. Gingrich do something about the Southern
Border during the 1990s anyhow?
(Now,
those Conservatives who protested this election, have empowered the
Democrats, by failing to defend the Republican control in the House,
and may have enabled the passing of the unattractive Senate Bill). When
this President bravely tried to reform Social Security, Republicans,
Conservatives, Libertarians were strangely absent from view.
Ironically, a number of these critics from the right, were busy griping
about spending, failing to see the opportunity to change one of the
biggest socialist programs in our Nation. They still seem to forget
about President Bush's promotion of private ownership.
Some of
the most respected Conservatives, began to cry 'Iran had defeated
Israel in Southern Lebanon'. Blaming President Bush for the military
commitment of the Israelis, even before the smoke cleared, made
absolutely no sense at all.
The most vocal Conservative
advocates for Operation Iraqi Freedom, now blame the entire conception
on the Administration. Several chose to hide their responsibility for
the policy, behind the claims of it being 'mishandled'.
Soon,
Republican supporters were treated to the most bizarre expression, with
many Conservatives pushing the baseless, 'there is no difference
between Republicans and Democrats'. A few of the most influential
bloggers, actually referenced the Millions of supporters of President
Bush, as merely dupes.
It is sincerely regretful.This
poster is not referencing the critical analysis, constructive insight,
and needed guidance required for elected Representation. But, the loss
of perspective, context, pragmatism, which was lost in the last two
years, did not help these 'sideline' pessismists grow the Conservative
interest.
In fact, we continue to encounter those who wished to
persecute this President and the Republican Party, for not being their
ideal Conservative.
This self destructive mindset is really
quite stunning, considering the concerning alternatives now taking
control of the House and Senate.
How could so many fail to see the greater Priority of the GWOT?Clearly the Republicans in the House and the Senate performed rather poorly in the last two years, and were far from perfect.
However,
I never believed the American Public, would enable the capitualition of
this Country, after three short years in Iraq. I truly believed we
understood the stakes at hand during this election. Nor, could I
imagine Conservative Republicans abandoning this fine President after
all we have been through since 9-11.
In my humble opinion,
President Bush restored some ethical belief in Government. This was
very hard to do after the 8 negligent years of the Clinton malfeasance.
This poster voted for GW Bush to rebuke the unethical Democrat Party.
Amazed the Republican President performed better than anyone imagined,
offering a number of sound Conservtive policies.
Tax
Relief, Tort Reform, Bankruptcy Reform, Conservative Judicial
Nominations (including Alito, Brown, Roberts, etc.), rejecting KYOTO,
rejecting INTERNATIONAL COURTS, creating competition in Medicare (which
will reduce our burden-cost of intensive care with the aging populace),
TESTING in Education (providing needed standards in the existing
massive investment), strengthening our Military (including substantial
pay increases), the PATRIOT ACT, crushing Terrorists in the GWOT
(including the Taliban, Zarqawi, etc.), rejecting the further
Appeasement of Threats (including North Korea, Iran, Syria), etc.I
remain deeply thankful for this Man in the White House and the Bush
Administration. I never expected perfection. It is sad, or perhaps
ironic, President Bush is now the only one, in the way of the liberal
aspirations of the unethical Democrat Party.
This poster
remembers when the Reagan Administration was abandoned by many
Conservatives and Republicans. It was a huge mistake. The Reagan
Administration was far from perfect, in bringing Conservative ideals
into practice. Our bureaucracy is a difficult challenge. Yet, the
Presidency of the wonderful Ronald Reagan, was heroic in comparisan to
the Liberal opposition.
We now see the push to gain a more
Conservative position, amongst the Republican Party. This is healthy,
and welcome, but a desire for perfection at the polls, versus an
advocation of the ideal, should not empower the disastrous Democrat
Party.
This President has been beaten by those on the left and the right. It is interesting, many Conservatives who were hoping to
'teach us a lesson'
have to rely on President Bush now, to hold the line. The Man who
defeated Gore and Kerry, will be relied upon to hold the Pelosi
Democrats for two years.
Will Conservatives appreciate it if GW does?Perhaps, I should ask, why should this President bother?
